Description
Insurance Service Representatives can benefit from an understanding of the risk management process. Knowing the types and classifications of exposures their client's face helps them to design more effective insurance and risk management programs. This course provides tools and techniques to identify exposures, assess their impact on clients’ assets and operations, consider a variety of loss funding/insurance options, control losses, and claims, and finally implement risk management and loss control procedures and monitor their progress.

Dan Weedin CIC, CRM
Dan Weedin has nearly three decades of experience in the insurance and risk management industry. After a brief stint as a personal lines underwriter, he spent 16 years as a commercial insurance agent and broker. In 2005, he founded Toro Consulting, Inc., where he helps small and medium-sized enterprises to enhance strategic planning around business continuation, improve preparedness, and create stronger resiliency for the organizations. Dan graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. He started work immediately after graduating at United Pacific Insurance; then transitioned to the agency side in 1989 for Edgren Hecker & Lemmon Insurance; and later on started his consulting practice. Dan completed his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1986 and Certified Risk Managers (CRM) in 2011. He lives in Poulsbo, WA with his wife, Barb and is minion to his two Jack Russell terriers, Captain Jack and Bella.
