Instructors:

Day 1: Stacy Flynn, AFIS, CRM, CIC, FLMI, ACS

Stacy Flynn is President of The Legacy Insurance Group, a personal, commercial, life, and ag agency located in Southern Iowa.  Stacy began her career in 1999 as a high school student working in a local insurance agency and fell in love with the industry.

Stacy has a very comprehensive background in her 20+ year insurance career including service, education, sales, and risk management - both in the main street and large agency arena.  Prior to forming her own firm, she worked most recently in sales for one of the largest insurance brokers in the world specializing in commercial agriculture.  Her extensive experience and education within the industry allows her to marry the academic and real world to add value for business owners, insurance, and risk management professionals alike.

Stacy has a degree in finance, and she earned her CIC designation in 2017 and her CRM designation in 2020.  She also holds the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS), Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), and Associate Customer Service (ACS) designations.

Day 2: Sam Bennett, CIC, CPRM, AFIS, TRIP, CRIS, CPIA

Mr. Bennett is an active retail producer, presenter, and shareholder in Harrison Agency, Inc., of Columbia, Missouri. He began his insurance career in 1987 and has been an independent insurance agent from the beginning. He has worked with individuals, families, and small businesses his entire career. In this capacity, he has worked in the personal lines, commercial lines, agribusiness, and life and health marketplaces. As a result of working with many types of clients, many insurers, and many coverage needs, he has grown to understand and appreciate the important ways an insurance professional must work with markets and clients in today’s insurance world.

Mr. Bennett obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1996. He has taught coursework for the National Alliance in their CISR program since 2000, has presented in their CIC program since 2004, and, in 2009, became a National Faculty Member of the Society of CIC. He is also a speaker in IRMI’s Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) program and in the AIMS Society’s Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) program. In 2019, Sam obtained his Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM) designation and is a speaker in that program. He has been called upon to offer insurance education in conferences and symposiums across the country for over 20 years.

As much as he enjoys speaking on insurance topics, Mr. Bennett’s true passion is cooking. BBQ and soul food are his specialties. He likes nothing more than a lively pulled pork/crawfish/catfish/collard green discussion.
